This bright young man not only gave in to his urges upon seeing a brand new $111,000 Corvette ZR1 in the secured parking lot (that, we could try to understand), but also had the brilliant idea to film his joy ride and upload the video that showed his face as well as the car's dealer plate on Youtube.

The folks from 'The Smoking Tire' decided to bid farewell to the 2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Convertible they had for this year's Bullrun by bringing on Classic Design Concepts' Pontiac Firebreather for a brief tet-a-tet.

For those unfamiliar with the Firebreather, the Pontiac Firebird-ized 2011 Camaro was originally created by Classic Design Concepts as a one off movie car for Exxodus Pictures' new sci-fi film, Jinn, but the company took the decision to build a limited series for sale to the public.

"What do you think about the Chevrolet Volt?" It's a question we get asked all the time. For most of us, the answer is, "I'm anxious to check it out." The staff of Consumer Reports' Automotive Test Center can offer more substantive replies. General Motors drove two Volts out to CR's Connecticut test facility and let the magazine's experts give the extended-range EVs some thorough study. Using a 415cid stroker engine and the HPE800 Twin Turbo upgrade, engineers at Hennessey Performance in Texas and California have dramatically boosted power on the Chevrolet Camaro to 815 horsepower (608 kW, 826 PS). However, substitute 104-octane racing fuel for 93-octane petrol and the engine kicks out 1,000 hp (746 kW, 1014 PS) at the crank as measured on the dyno.

This translates to 847 rear-wheel horsepower (632 kW, 859 PS). The company provided a video and graph of the dyno test to back up their claim. The ZR1 engine used was tuned to produce up to 788 [...]

Although the Corvette Grand Sport isn't exactly brand new, there could be a few things you've yet to learn about it and see it do. Even though General Motors is in the midst of bankruptcy protection, the firm's engineers and technicians have somehow managed to stay ahead in the development of the Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid - or at least that's what they support. On Wednesday, the automaker completed the build of the first pre-production Volt more than a week ahead of schedule. Up until now, the development team was working with prototype mules utilizing the body of the Chevy Cruze and the hybrid drivetrain of the Volt.

Despite the looming bankruptcy and the other serious issues facing the company, General Motors' global product development chief, Tom Stephens told journalists on the sidelines of an event at the University of Michigan that the American automaker is on plan with the development of the Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid. "At this point in time, I know of no reason why we can't be in production by November of 2010," Stephens said.

Earlier today at the grand opening of the Chicago Auto Show, General Motors lifted the veil on its latest concept car, the Corvette Stingray that will play the role of 'SIDESWIPE' in the second iteration of the Transformer saga, called "Revenge of the Fallen". Unfortunately for Corvette fans, GM has no intention of building a production version of the concept, which is a pity as with the exception of the 'Batmobile-ish' rear-end, we found the Stingray's design quite sexy. GPiX crossover coupe by Chevrolet has been revealed in Brazil at the Sao Paulo International Auto Show. The car showcases the talents of GM’s Brazilian design outfit, one of the 11 around the world, as a crossover vehicle envisioned to rough out the edges off developing countries’ roads. GPiX, a word that stands for “Global Pictures”, follows on the idea of a coupe – slanting back, two doors, sporty squat, but one that is versatile and stands taller than normal road cars.

And when we say tease we mean tease. GM Performance Parts has put together a YouTube Channel that is showing the development process the GM design team is going through to show some tricked-out 2010 Camaro’s at the 2008 SEMA Auto Show next month.

The new Camaros in Las Vegas will feature some of the latest accessories from GM Performance Parts along with some interesting “twists” from the GM Design Team.

The 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has already broken records in Germany at the Nurburgring with a lap time of 7:26. Now the new Chevy supercar takes on the Autobahn reaching speeds of 315 km/h (195 mph). We’ve seen the 638-hp LS9 supercharged 6.2L V8 push the Corvette ZR1 to 205 mph before on  test track in Papenburg, Germany.

Set for debut in Paris next month, GM Europe has unveiled first images for its Orlando Concept, a seven-seat family MPV which reminds of the Chevrolet Sequel SUV/crossover concept from 2005, although much smaller in size. The Orlando is based on the all-new Cruze compact sedan and aims at being a sport utility, family van and wagon.

With a wheelbase of 2760 mm, GM is placing emphasis on the vehicle's functionality with adaptable, theater-style seating in three rows comfortably accommodating up to seven occupants, while the spacious cabin can be quickly transformed into a large cargo area.
