2010 European Grand Prix - RESULTS
Sebastian Vettel declared on the radio he is "back on track" after winning Sunday's European grand prix.
"Germany one, England nil," grinned third-placed Jenson Button, before leaving the FIA press conference to watch Germany score the first goal for real as the countries battle for World Cup survival in South Africa.
With his win, pole sitter Vettel snatches third place in the world championship - behind both McLarens - from his Red Bull teammate Mark Webber, who escaped unhurt from a frightening backflip crash.
Caused by the Australian striking the rear of Heikki Kovalainen's Lotus, the [...]
Lewis and Jenson build McLaren F1 car in latest promo
In a 2m 40s promo, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button get ditched by their engineering team and are forced to put together a Formula 1 car on their own. The video has a few genuinely funny moments, though lines like "What's that?" "What's that for?" and "Where does this one go?" are used over and over again.
Naturally, a mistake is made and Button has to use a mobile phone to call the team and solve a problem. This leads to the eventual tagline, "Jenson and Lewis depend on their team, their team depends on [...]
Williams courting Volkswagen into Formula One?
Williams is intent on bringing another major automaker into Formula 1, but which will get the call? Volkswagen has toyed with the idea of entering F1 for some time. The German auto giant is one of the largest carmakers never to participate in the sport, notwithstanding Porsche and Lamborghini, which have in the past and which have since fallen under the VW umbrella. The latest reports suggest that if costs continue to drop and stability is restored, Volkswagen could field an entry – in some form or another – by 2013. Questions remain over which of its many brands and [...]

A spokesman for McLaren insists the team's relationship with engine and equity partner Mercedes-Benz is not set to end.
It is reported on Monday that Mercedes, already the supplier of customer engines to Brawn GP, is close to buying into the Brackley based team.
"Both McLaren and Mercedes-Benz remain extremely satisfied with our F1 collaboration, which has netted two drivers' world championships and one constructors' world championship as well as dozens of grand prix victories," the spokesman is quoted as saying in a report by the BBC.
McLaren also said it is "supportive" of Mercedes' engine deals with other teams, amid speculation Red [...]
Its Official! Ferrari Confirm Michael Schumacher will Replace Felipe Massa
Michael Schumacher on Wednesday announced he is looking forward to the challenge of replacing his injured former Ferrari teammate Felipe Massa at forthcoming grands prix.
"I met this afternoon with Stefano Domenicali and Luca di Montezemolo and together we decided that I will prepare myself to take the place of Felipe," the 40-year-old German, who retired in 2006, said.
Schumacher hung up his helmet as a record-holding seven time world champion and winner of 91 grands prix and insists he has never regretted his decision.
"Though it is true that the formula one chapter was completely [...]
Hospital says Massa's condition 'life-threatening'
Felipe Massa is in a "life-threatening" condition on Saturday night after undergoing surgery on his fractured skull.
Brawn team boss Ross Brawn confirmed that the piece of Rubens Barrichello's car that fell off and struck Massa on the helmet at the Hungaroring during qualifying weighed 800 grams and is made of steel.
It resulted in the 28-year-old Brazilian driver sustaining a cut forehead, skull damage and brain concussion, and after surgery he is in intensive care in the central Budapest hospital AEK.
During a news conference, hospital medical director Peter Bazso said Massa's condition "is serious, [...]
