Fiat Group’s average CO2 emissions continue to fall

According to figures compiled by the independent research company JATO Dynamics, the Fiat Group continues to lead the way in cutting greenhouse gas recording the lowest volume weighted CO2 emissions.

Fiat Group brands Ferrari and Alfa Romeo have also scored well recording the best overall reduction and the best volume weighted brand reduction for vehicles sold in Europe during 2009.

“These figures are significant because they show the total impact of every vehicle sold by each car maker, not just the performance of one particular model in a range,” explains Mr Andrei Zaitzev, General Manager for Fiat in Australia.

“It’s relatively easy to [...]

Fiat 500C in Depth

Fiat has released some new, but expected details about the Fiat 500C.  The soft-top homage to the 50's classic was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.

Keeping a flat fabric roof, the car is very reminiscent of the original Fiat 500 from 1957.  However, the car does receive the benefit of 50 years of automotive technological and spatial advances.  Now with four reasonably comfortable seats, the car has the dimensions of 355 cm long x 165 cm wide x 149 cm high.  These are the same measurements as the base model, making the car [...]

The car company managed to replicate the well-known, bright, Barbie pink lacquer color for the vehicle, with the intention of making it look like the 500 was coated in varnish. The pink and cream Alcantara seats are laminated in silver, with a glimmer that "bounces as far as the roof panel." Interior bezels, hubcaps, window mouldings, and the attena are lined in crystals. Fiat Punto Turbo: Has It Been Created Just For the Experience?

Does it make any sense for a carmaker to produce a vehicle just for an event? Sometimes it does, as we have seen with the cars Volkswagen presented recently at the 2008 GTI Meet in Austria such as the Scirocco GT24, GTI Performance Concept and Passat R36 Styling Study. For others, presenting a vehicle as a show car is just an excuse, as the BMW M1 Homage will someday prove, since BMW would not invest so much money just to leave its customers mouthwatering. We could say the same for the Fiat Punto Turbo, which was recently presented at Quatro [...]

Fiat 500 by Novitec

The new Fiat 500 may be Car of the Year, but Novitec can always find a way to improve on things like performance and exclusivity when it comes to Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and of course Fiat.
Starting with the engines, Novitec has taken the 1.3 liter JTD turbo-diesel to 83 hp / 61 kW from its stock 70 hp / 51.5 kW, reducing its 0-100 km/h sprint time to 11.9 seconds and raising its top speed to 165 km/h. All this is possible through a plug-and-play control module available for just Euro 335.
The 1.4 [...]

Fiat 500 Abarth World Debut at Geneva Motor Show

As we have already brought to you, Mini has exceed all its competitors efforts to produce a trendy and fast machine with John Cooper Works versions of Mini and Clubman. Fiat must have been really frustrated to see that the limelights it expected to have on its Abarth version of the 500 were driven in another direction. Nevertheless, the small Italian car will have its place on the market and many will think of it as an exciting little car, with its 135 cv engine.

No surprises were left for the official presentation of the car in Geneva. It was exactly [...]

It is the white one on the gallery at the right. The second one is this green vehicle, a modern people mover that will be previewed at the Geneva Motor Show.

This is not the first public appearance of the 3.96 m long MPV. It has been first seen by the public [...]

Fiat 500 Abarth Video and New Pictures

Ok, we know we have already shown you the leaked photos of the Fiat 500 Abarth and the somehow disappointing official power figures of the car, mere 135 hp at 5,500 rpm, but we had to show you this nice video of the classic 500 Abarth mixed with sketches and the official images of Fiat?s new hot hatch, as well as the rest of the official pictures.

Fiat?s intention was to present the development of the car, but it is a true pity none of the recent videos that have been released, both on the 500 Abarth, the A4 Avant and [...]
