2012 Ford Focus Wagon Pre-Geneva Reveal

Ford has released the first images of the 2012 Focus wagon, ahead of its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

Set to account for nearly 33 percent of Focus sales in Europe, the wagon features attractive styling, integrated roof rails, and a self-closing tailgate.

2010 Matech Ford GT1 Unveiled

Do you love the Ford GT? Were you bummed because it was never designed to be a real racer? If so, you might want to check out the 2010 Matech GT1.

While details are limited, the car is based on a prototype that the Swiss racing team ran in 2009. According to test driver Thomas Mutsch, "The car is completely new. Not a single element, be it the engine, the transmission system, the suspension or aerodynamics are the same as those of the Ford GT1 from 2009. The roll-out was very promising, and we are confident with regard the forthcoming season."

Next Generation 2012 Ford Focus and 2011 Lincoln MKX to Debut in Detroit

Ford will introduce the redesigned Focus and updated Lincoln MKX at North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Set to be launched as a 2012 model, the next-generation Focus will have a truly global design as "it will look the same in the United States, Europe and Asia." While details are limited, we can expect European-inspired styling and a vastly improved interior. Reports suggests it will resemble the Focus-based C-Max introduced in Frankfurt.

Engine options will likely include a 1.0-liter with 89 hp to 108 hp, a 1.6-liter with 170 hp, and a 2.0-liter with at least 230 hp. On the diesel [...]

2011 Ford Mustang GT Revving its 5.0 V8 on the Road and the Dyno

Volkswagen Scirocco R vs Ford Focus RS

Here are three videos of the Volkswagen Scirocco R vs the Ford Focus RS. The first two come from the Germans at D-Motor and the second, after the jump, is Autocar’s verdict on how the Scirocco R compares to the Focus RS. The Scirocco has a 2.0-litre TSI engine with 265 hp and front wheel drive. The Ford Focus RS has, however, 300 hp, a few more than the Scirocco. Ford and M-Sport officially unveil Fiesta S2000 rally car

Ford Motor Company and noted rally masters M-Sport have pulled the veil off their latest collaborative rally machine, the Fiesta S2000. It's their first global rally car, and as such will be able to compete in a whole bevy of international competitions ranging from IRC to the S2000 World Cup to Aatos and Aamu's Finnish Tree Bash. Long story short, going by past history alone, this should be one bruiser of a successful rally car.

Ford Shelby Mustang to get V8 EcoBoost engines in the future?

FoMoCo has previously said that 90 percent of its line-up will feature its new EcoBoost fuel-saving engines by 2013. Nearly 80 percent of Ford’s global nameplates will have an available EcoBoost option. The Dearborn automakers says that by 2013, global EcoBoost volume throughout the Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicle family is expected to be 1.3 million units, with up to 750,000 sales coming from North America alone.

Other than its current 3.5L V6 EcoBoost, Ford has plans to add a 1.6L EcoBoost turbocharged 4-cylinder engine to the Ford Focus, Ford Fiesta and some other models. The companies Grand C-Max will also [...]

Ford to build fourth plant in China to produce next-generation Focus

After unveiling the Ford Figo in India, FoMoCo CEO Alan Mulally headed to China to announce that the company is building a fourth plant in the country that will produce the next-generation Ford Focus for the consumers there.

The $490 million investment in Chongqing is the third joint venture between Ford and Changan Ford Mazda Automobile (CFMA) and is scheduled for completion in 2012.

The new plant will have an initial capacity of 150,000 units per year, increasing annual capacity at CFMA to 600,000 units by 2012. Ford said it will introduce four new vehicles for the Chinese market over the next three [...]

Frankfurt debut for new Ford C-MAX

Ford of Europe has released the first official images of the all-new Ford C-MAX, which will make its global debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The show opens to the public between September 17 and 27, 2009. The new Ford C-MAX takes its design cues from the stunning iosis MAX concept car unveiled at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, and brings new levels of style and desirability to the compact multi-activity vehicle (MAV) market.

Ford Focus RS at Nurburgring

The Ford Focus RS takes on the Nurburgring in this video, going at a spectacular speed, driven by Horst von Saurma from Germany’s Sport Auto magazine. The Focus RS lapped the Nurburgring in 8 minutes, 26 seconds, a big difference from the Focus ST with 225hp back in 2005 which did 8:51 minutes.

The Focus RS in Europe is equipped with a 2.5 litre turbocharged engine with 300 hp and six-speed manual transmission. It has a top speed of 26 km/hr and reaches 100 km/hr in 5.9 seconds. Check out the hot hatch in the video.

Next-gen Taurus likely to move to common platform with Fusion/Mondeo

The 2010 Ford Taurus is barely into its launch, but plans are already being laid for the next-gen model. In what should be a surprise to no one, the next Taurus is expected to be smaller than the current car. According to The Detroit News, Ford is likely to move Taurus to a common platform shared with the Fusion and Mondeo. I don’t recommend you watch this video if you get car sick, but otherwise, let the race begin! At the wheel of this Opel Astra is Fabrizio Giovanardi, Vauxhall driver in the BTCC championship. Fifth Gear tests Ford Focus RS against Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X

The 300-hp 2.5L 5-cylinder Duratec engine under the hood of the 2009 Ford Focus RS definitely gives it an edge over many of its rivals. The folks at Fifth Gear think that the new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X can definitely give the Focus RS some strong competition so they decided to put the two cars head-to-head in a series of tests… on a track.

For the longest time Ford wasn't even breathing a word related to the Focus RS. Then suddenly a flood of information came through, including confirmation that the RS would make a return after a six year hiatus.
