Hyundai challenges Mini at Road Atlanta, wants to step in for Porsche
Mini USA is looking for a race – more specifically they’re looking for a race with Porsche. However, Porsche has respectfully declined Mini’s challenge to race a Porsche 911 Carrera S against a Mini Cooper S, simply because the Stuttgart automaker believes its not worth their time.
Well, Hyundai is now looking to step in for Porsche and has challenged Mini to take on the Genesis Coupe. Hyundai’s video message ends with saying “Our driver’s a bit busy this week preparing to set the World Record at Pikes Peak… but July is looking good.”
Mini is hoping to race Porsche this coming [...]
Hyundai names Chris Perry new VP for marketing
Chris Perry has some big shoes to fill in his new job. Hyundai has named Perry to replace Joel Ewanick as its vice-president of marketing. Ewanick, who left Hyundai in March for a short stay in the same position at Nissan, recently was appointed to that role at General Motors.
Ewanick is credited with many of the particularly creative initiatives that have boosted Hyundai's market share in the past several years, including last year's assurance program, in which the automaker committed to making payments for laid off customers.
Perry has been with Hyundai for ten years and since 2007 has been director [...]

In fact, theories were already flying around as to the cost of this car, which should also be seen on the UK market.

Hyundai Luxury Brand Will Depend on Success of Genesis
Hyundai, together with Kia, is the sixth biggest carmaker in the world in terms of sales but the company sees its future as being in the top five band of carmakers. To boost sales and market share, Hyundai is developing more premium models such as the new Genesis sedan and coupe but what executives really hope to accomplish is the launch of a full-line dedicated luxury brand like what Toyota did with Lexus.
Executives are in no major rush, and are in fact taking a wait and see approach with the launch of [...]
