Koenigsegg CCR Evolution with 806HP V8 on the Drag Strip
Our Swedish pals over at Sportbilen made their way to Mantorp Park this past weekend to attend the 2009 Action Meet racing event. The crew had the chance to film the only Swedish registered Koenigsegg CCR Evolution (yes, that's the company that acquired SAAB) during the quarter mile run. From what they told us, the specific Koenigsegg CCR had been upgraded with the newer CCX's 4.7-liter supercharged V8 engine (hence the Evolution nametag) that churns out a hefty 806 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and a peak torque of 920 Nm (693 ft/lb) at 5500 rpm.

First Official Renderings of 1018 hp Koenigsegg CCXR Special Edition
Supercars and eco-friendliness are terms rarely seen occupying the same linguistic space. But it is Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg that wishes to unite the apparently radically-opposing concepts in a new Special Edition model dubbed the CCXR. Announced earlier this year, these are the first official renderings via Autoblog.nl of the new Koenigsegg CCXR Special Edition, fitted with an engine capable both of running on biofuel and de-throning the Bugatti Veyron.
The Special Edition model features a cast-aluminium V8 engine with sequential multipoint fuel injection and twin rotrex centrifigual superchargers for up to 1.5 bar boost pressure. Burning the ethanol in E85 [...]
