Mercedes has teamed up with fashion designer Gareth Pugh and photographer Nick Knight to create a visual campaign for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin.

Dubbed "fashion as performance," the campaign features Julia Stegner posing in front of a red SLS AMG while wearing a futuristic outfit designed by Pugh. Despite being kind of odd, it's still better than Maybach's orgy photo shoot by David LaChapelle.

There is no doubt that Mercedes-Benz is really proud of its new SLS AMG supercar – so much so that the Stuttgart automaker came up with a couple of outstanding TV spots for the vehicle in Germany. One spot, which has a lot of people talking (especially on YouTube) features the SLS AMG doing a barrel roll inside a tunnel (and we mean crawling on the walls and everything). Thinks its real? The guys from Motor Trend love their Cadillac CTS-V. The American sports sedan has 556 hp and 750 Nm of torque, and has already beaten the BMW M5 and the new Jaguar XFR in two previous challenges from Motor Trend. This time, though, they’re trying it against the Mercedes E 63 AMG sports sedan offering.

The Mercedes has 525 hp and 630 Nm of torque, but performance between the two is very close with the Cadillac making it to 100 km/hr in 4.5 seconds and with a top speed of 308 km/hr. The E 63 has a top speed of 300 [...]

BMW and Mini have entered into an agreement with Mercedes-Benz USA by which the latter will be responsible for the former two companies’ vehicles being imported through the port of Baltimore.

BMW and Mini will use the Mercedes-Benz vehicle preparation center to inspect, process, and repair their pre-delivered vehicles starting in March. President of BMW of North America, Jim O’Donnell said that he anticipates approximately 50,000 vehicles headed for the central region, to pas through Mercedes’ center, reports Automotive News.

The appearance of the new SLS AMG Gullwing at Laguna Seca got the Americans very excited, as it would anyone, I guess. What I can’t get over is just how many of the models are lined up around the track (I always get the impression that any new launch of a supercar is the same car travelling around the world - or at least one of an exclusive group of three).

Mercedes-Benz has released more eye candy in the form of the upcoming 2010 SLS AMG. Driving footage partly seen previously is joined by a number of new clips including studio beauty shots. Close attention is paid to details like the open gullwing doors, the exterior badges, LED daytime running lights and an engine bay cutaway. The soundtrack blasted by the massive tailpipes is suitably impressive while the interior and a number of its features are tastefully showcased.

With the recent introduction of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Stuttgart's focus is now on the roadster version that's due in late 2011. Filmed here by the spies at Auto Motor und Sport during hot-weather testing in Death Valley, California, the SLS AMG Roadster appears to be fitted with a traditional canvas top. Also, the fixed handles on the doors suggest that the trademark gullwing doors of the coupe have been replaced by either regular or scissor-type doors like the ones featured on the topless McLaren SLR.

A spokesman for McLaren insists the team's relationship with engine and equity partner Mercedes-Benz is not set to end.

It is reported on Monday that Mercedes, already the supplier of customer engines to Brawn GP, is close to buying into the Brackley based team.

"Both McLaren and Mercedes-Benz remain extremely satisfied with our F1 collaboration, which has netted two drivers' world championships and one constructors' world championship as well as dozens of grand prix victories," the spokesman is quoted as saying in a report by the BBC.

McLaren also said it is "supportive" of Mercedes' engine deals with other teams, amid speculation Red [...]

This video of the E-Class station wagon shows a sporty but elegant effort that may put a dent in BMW and Audi competition. By the looks of it, the wagon is definitely a classy and athletic E-Class option that is putting comfort with stylish performance at the forefront. Our spy photographers have managed to catch new video of Mercedes' upcoming 2012 SLK roadster.

Like previous mules, this prototype is heavily camouflaged which prevents us from getting a glimpse of the car's new styling. Regardless, the convertible appears to adopt a more chiseled appearance that seems to dismiss much of the current model's shapely curves. The SLR-inspired nose is also expected to disappear, in favor of a more conventional grille which will likely echo the new E-Class Coupe.

Although details are limited, power is expected to be provided by the usual mix of naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol engines. Rumor suggests [...]

The Mercedes SLS AMG 2010 is just about ready, and here is a video of Bernd Schneider (five-time DTM champion) driving it around the ‘Ring. The super coupe has 571 hp and can hit 100 km/hr in 3.8 seconds. The car will be officially presented in September.

More details of the Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG have been released. The car is the top-of-the-range model and features certain equipment that other E-Class models don't. Most important of these and the one that makes it stand out is the 6.3-litre (6208 cc) V8 engine that has remained naturally aspirated. Its maximum rated power is 386kW (525hp) and peak torque is 630Nm mated with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission from the SL 63 AMG. Lorinser is not a tuner that goes out of its way to create cars that scare other motorists off the freeway. Subtle but effective is how they do it over at Lorinser. Occasionally though, they present something like this which is called the Lorinser LV8. It's based on the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG and instead of pushing out 332kW (451hp) it delivers 368kW (500hp). Maximum torque is also increased to 630Nm. Subsequently the 0 - 100km/h dash can be achieved in 4.3 seconds while top speed goes up to 320km/h.

New details have been released for both the 2010 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG and S65 AMG facelifts.  With a starting price of €115,700 before tax, the S63 AMG short-wheelbase brings a 525 horsepower, 6.3-liter V8 engine producing up to 630 Nm of torque.  A long wheelbase model is available for an additional €6,000.

At €185,900 the S65 AMG is hardly cheap, but the 612 horsepower delivered by the 6.0-liter biturbo V12 may be enough to convince new customers.  The V12 delivers a massive 1000 Nm of torque, guaranteeing a 0-100 km/h time of 4.4 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the S63.  Both [...]
