Alfa Giulietta test drive video

This test drive video of the Alfa Giulietta gives the car a great write-up despite a few glitches that mean it falls short of perfect. It would be interesting to hear from Alfa Romeo as to whether the Giulietta was intended to be a “great driver’s car” or not as the main criticism levelled at it is lack of steering precision making it a slightly soft touch (clearly not one for the track, then).

But what we glean from this video is that Alfa has built a very impressive, premium hatchback which, with its fuel economy and reasonable price, certainly [...]

Audi A1 Tokio Hotel video

The Audi A1 continues its high profile marketing campaign, this time completing a video with Germany’s pop-rock band, Tokio Hotel. With that and the Next Big Thing videos with Justin Timberlake, Audi certainly hasn’t saved on its marketing and creating a specific and slick image for the A1. Obviously aimed at younger people, throwing off its ‘another German premium car’ roots, Audi has invested heavily in making its A1 appeal to exactly who it wants it to.

What’s more, the aggressive and sophisticated campaign could be bearing fruit, with official sales kicking off in August amongst announcements that Audi has already [...]

Dealership Guard takes $111,000 Corvette ZR1 for a spin, posts video on Youtube

We finally found someone that makes Lloyd and Harry [that would be the dynamic duo from Dumb & Dumber] look like Mensa candidates. Meet the now unemployed, but as-of-yet unnamed, security guard at the Dallas Auto Auction in Dallas, Texas.

This bright young man not only gave in to his urges upon seeing a brand new $111,000 Corvette ZR1 in the secured parking lot (that, we could try to understand), but also had the brilliant idea to film his joy ride and upload the video that showed his face as well as the car's dealer plate on Youtube.

When the story made [...]

Renault Latitude video

This video of the Renault Latitude gives us the full going-over of the new, and very large, flagship sedan for the company that was presented at the Moscow International Motor Show. The Latitude is planned to be sold in 50 markets, standing with Russia and other ‘emerging’ markets. It measures 4.88 x 1.83 x 1.48 metres and is available initially with two petrol engines: a four-cylinder, 2.0-litre with 139 hp and 191 Nm of torque, and the more powerful 2.5-litre V6 with 177 hp and 233 Nm.

Those engines, while limited, are impressive but won’t be available on the European-spec [...]

Pagani Zonda R track drive video

I was horrified on first seeing this that Autocar was going to a 90-second test drive verdict on the Pagani Zonda R but in retrospect it would have been fun to see them try. What’s there to say, really? The Zonda R represents the Zonda swansong before the new Pagani C9 turns up but that obviously doesn’t mean they shoved one off the production line with a few stickers attached and called it a special edition.

The Pagani Zonda R is equipped with an aspirated six-litre V12 engine with 750 hp. Clearly not a street legal car. The presenter is [...]

BMW 1-Series M Coupe new teaser video released

It's 10pm on a Friday night and just as we're ready to call it a day/week, BMW sends us this glorious strip tease video for the hotly anticipated 1-Series M Coupe. As the first "unveiling" video in a series, the 1er M lifts it's black puritan covering to reveal a little leg.

Earlier this month BMW released a video of the 1-Series M Coupe driving around the Ascari race track in Spain, and a few weeks before that released this video.

It was previously reported that the 1er M would be unveiled in December prior to its unveiling at the Detroit [...]

McLaren MP4-12C embarks on North American tour

McLaren has announced details regarding the MP4-12C North American Tour.

Over the next few months, the company will display the supercar at eight dealers across the United States and Canada. Guests will be invited to a cocktail reception, a Q&A session with McLaren representatives, and a private showing of the MP4-12C. The first event, at McLaren Beverly Hills, was a smashing success as nearly 300 people attended.

According to Tony Joseph, McLaren Automotive's Regional Director for North America, "Each retailer on this tour will be registering customer interest in the 12C and it's clear from the feedback at the McLaren Beverly Hills [...]

Another Ferrari 458 Italia catches fire, Ferrari to investigate

The Ferrari 458 Italia is proving to be a hot commodity - quite literally.

In the past three months, ten vehicles have caught on fire. While six were involved in accidents that could have started the fire, three others have burst into flames for no apparent reason. The tenth vehicle was destroyed in a warehouse fire, but it remains unclear if the car started the blaze.

Speaking with the Telegraph, a Ferrari spokesperson stated "We are taking all the reports very seriously and are looking into them but we are treating them all as separate incidents."

If you're thinking the recent rash of [...]

Lexus LFA first speeding ticket by CEC boss Claus Ettensberger

Claus Ettensberger, the CEO of the Claus Ettensberger Corporation (CEC), has been awarded the dubious honor of being the first person to receive a speeding ticket in the Lexus LFA.

While details are limited, Ettensberger took a short test drive and was ticketed for doing 91 mph (146 km/h) in a 35 mph (56 km/h) zone.

If you're not familiar with CEC, the California-based company is major importer and retailer for Brabus, TechArt, Novitec Rosso, and AC Schnitzer.

As we have previously reported, the Lexus LFA is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V10 engine with 552 hp (560 PS / 412kW) and [...]

2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class official details released

Mercedes-Benz has officially released photos and details on the upcoming 2012 CLS-Class which will make its debut at the Paris motor show in October.

In these official photos we now get to see the design of the 2012 CLS-Class in its entirety. The flared wheel arches along with the broad shoulder lines and a flattened nose give the CLS a far more muscular look than its sleeker predecessor.

New technology on the CLS-Class includes the LED headlamps, which feature a total of 71 individual lights. The lights are split into three sections, with the upper set forming the turn indicator, the middle [...]

Ford Focus RS500 vs Renault Clio RS Cup

It might seem a bit tough to challenge the Renault Clio RS Cup with the Ford Focus RS500 given the difference in performance specs of these two cars. The Clio has a 2.0-litre 16V engine with 203 hp and 215 Nm of torque, while the Focus’ 2.5 Turbo has 350 hp and 460 Nm of torque. Top speeds are also different with 265 km/hr against the 224 of the Clio, and the Focus RS500 is faster in the sprint to 100 km/hr at 5.6 seconds (compared to the Clio RS Cup’s 6.9 seconds).

You might be wondering at this stage what [...]

2011 Bentley Continental GT Coupe Facelift

Seven years into production of its Continental GT, and Bentley is now brewing up a... late, late-life facelift for the coupe model keep to suitors interested. As usual, the British (feel free to swap with German) firm's engineers made sure we couldn't see most of the styling updates by covering the car from top to bottom in checkered masking tape.

What we could make out from this video is the new Mulsanne-inspired snout with two large headlamps close to the grille offset by two smaller units on both corners and restyled air vents. In addition, it looks like the car will [...]

Volkswagen Scirocco vs Peugeot RCZ

The Peugeot RCZ and Volkswagen Scirocco may seem like unusual track buddies, but any excuse to take a couple of cars out for a spin, we say. The cars are on a par for curvy looks and the price tag, and while the Peugeot is equipped with a 1.6-litre and the VW with a 1.4, the former has 156 hp and the latter 160.

The supercharger helps the lack of ‘litres’ on the Scirocco and so they’re both taken out for a track drive. It’s purely a track time test which is what you want Tiff Nedell for, but if [...]

Honda CR-Z with a Supercharger Testing on the Dyno

The big news here is that, along with the usual suspension, brake and aero upgrades, famed Japanese tuner HKS, is also readying a supercharger kit for the CR-Z hybrid sport hatch. And while the company didn't publish any performance numbers, it did release a video of a supercharged CR-Z testing on the dyno, but with a twist. If you scroll down on the Youtube description, there is a footnote concerning the F1-like sound of the prepped-up CR-Z that reads:

"GT Supercharger Kit for CR-Z is under development. This is a shortened video of dyno setting of the kit.* Caution) Since it [...]
